By taking a cruise ship (Grimaldi or Tirrenia seaways) from Genova, you'll arrive over night (10 hours more or less) to Porto Torres, a seaport 25 miles away from Alghero. From here you can take a bus at the commercial docks to Alghero. To arrive to Olbia (Nordeast coast of Sardegna) there are many ways: From Livorno, with the Moby or Sardinia ferries; from La Spezia with the Mby fast ferries during summer; from Civitavecchia (Rome) with the Tirrenia and Ferrovie dello Stato companies
