The Church
The small chapel, contiguous to the old residence, rises over a panoramic small hill cultivated with olive trees, on the feet of the hill of Punta Argentiera, where the ruins of the Calabona mining still stand, active in the first half of the 20th century (1902-1947). The church was built in the 1830s and was dedicated to Saint Giovanni Nepomuceno, the patron of the canonicals who conferred the name to the locality and the “podere”. “Canunget” means small canonical. In the inside, you can find a small altar in stucco painted with marble effect, with details similar to those found in the altar arrangement of Saint Efisio.
It is assumed that the church was built by the Adami lineage, a mercantile family originated from the Sestri Levante, that in 1829 bought the land.
